What Are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions have gained massive popularity in the beauty world as a cosmetic application used to enhance the length, curl, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. The extensions may be made from several materials including synthetic, silk, mink, human or horsehair. They are individually applied to your natural lashes by using a lash adhesive to add lash volume.
It's considered a safe way to get fabulous eyelashes because the extensions are applied 1-2 mm from the base of the natural eyelashes without making contact with the eyelid.
Different Kinds of Eyelash Extensions
You may have heard about different kinds of lash extensions including synthetic, silk, mink, and volume eyelash extensions. Here is a brief introduction that may help you get some ideas about different materials of eyelash extensions.
Synthetic Eyelash Extensions:
They are made from a polished, acrylic material and are the firmest of all. In appearance, they are a little shinier or glossier than the mink or silk lashes. They will have a more dramatic look when applied densely.
They are considered not as soft or natural looking as silk or mink eyelash extensions. Moreover, they are heavier in weight than silk or mink eyelash extensions. For many people they are not a great option for long-term use.
Silk Eyelash Extensions:
These are the mid-weight type of lash extensions, and are finer and more flexible than the synthetic type. Because they are softer and more porous, they tend to hold on slightly longer than the synthetic ones.
With lighter weight, they are often a better option if your own lashes are weak or fine. They will last longer than synthetic ones.
You can expect a more natural look with these extensions, though the curl is not generally as uniform as synthetic lashes.
Mink Lash Extensions:
We are definitely against animal cruelty and we will never use real mink in lash extension products. So the word “mink” mentioned in all Beauty7 products refers to faux mink, which is a kind of synthetic fiber designed to imitate real mink. The synthetic fiber, or PBT, is thin, soft and light with nice texture, perfect for creating fuller and thicker lashes that looks most natural.
With proper care, mink lashes could be very long lasting. Because they are so light, they don’t tend to drop or twist, even after weeks of wear. That will depend on the grow cycle of your natural lashes. As your natural lashes fall, the extensions will definitely fall with them. They would possibly last for 3 or 4 weeks before you decide to refill them for longer use. It’s a good choice if your own lashes are weak.
Volume Eyelash Extensions:
The material of this kind is silk or mink lashes. They are designed to provide as much volume as possible, without overloading or damaging the natural lashes. The volume series labeled with 3D/5D/10D means clusters of 3, 5 or 10 extensions can be applied per natural lash. Since they are superfine and incredibly light, they last longer than classic extensions. It’s also time-saving to get thicker lashes because of the amount applied.
